Messier 33 + The Triangulum Galaxy

M33, also designated NGC 598, is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Triangulum. It was independently discovered by Charles Messier who catalogued it as M33, on August the 25th, 1764. M33, lies about 3 million light-years away from Earth, has a diameter of approximately 50,000 light-years, and is the third largest galaxy in our local group of galaxies, which also contains M31 the Andromeda galaxy and our own, Milky Way galaxy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_33
